Product Description Through dubious methods, the religious right have successfully demonized gays and lesbians in the eyes of people of faith. First-time author Alvin McEwen cuts through their rhetoric in Holy Bullies and Headless Monsters: Exposing the Lies of the Anti-Gay Industry. McEwen reveals the truth behind their false claims about the gay and lesbian community, including: Gay men have short life spans, Lesbians have a high rate of domestic violence, Gay men molest children at a high rate. McEwen also examines their tactics, revealing a pattern of generalizations, bad science, and out-and-out deceptions.

This is an excellent book October 29, 2007 Kevin W. Kaatz 4 out of 6 found this review helpful
I just finished reading Alvin McEwen's Holy Bullies and Headless Monsters: Exposing the Lies of the Anti-Gay Industry. It is a fantastic book. It is very depressing to hear how gays and lesbians in this country have been lied about so much that even laws have been changed because of these lies. McEwen has certainly written a good expose on the anti-gay industry and 'Industry' certainly a good name for it. People like Lou Sheldon (Traditional Values Coalition), Tony Perkins (Family Research Council) and many others have made quite a bit of money lying about gays and lesbians. This should be required reading for all gays and lesbians and it should be required reading for legislators who are being duped by these so-called religious people. It is horrifying to read about the endless manipulations that these so-called religious people use to get their ways and persecute the LGBTQ community. McEwen has written an excellent book and judging by all the anti-gay news that will be coming out in the upcoming elections, a second volume will certainly be needed.
