Product Description Take one tall, broad-shouldered fireman in his early thirties. Mix well with one skinny, eighteen-year-old college kid who lives for sex, and the results are sheer pleasure. Sam and Robert are about as opposite as you can get, aside from the fact that they're both into sex with guys. When Sam picks Robert up during Canada Day festivities, neither of them are expecting more than making some fireworks for the holiday. And the sparks definitely fly, especially since Sam is able to recharge his batteries as only an eighteen year old can. Robert finds himself both entranced and smitten with young Sam, who is bubbly and happy and can have more sex in the space of an hour than Robert can believe. But there's a world of difference between eighteen and thirty-two, as Sam and Robert discover along the way. Friends and family add to the difficulties they encounter. But the two of them come to realize that underneath it all, they have more than just a physical need for each other. The emotion that blossoms between them is soon as great as their first sizzling attraction. Drew Zachary, the author of Transforming Hades and Skin Deep, has written a romance as hot as the flame it's named after. Don't miss it!

Hot read! November 12, 2008 Sarah (NZ) This starts, I imagine, how more than one relationship might truly start. Less about the hearts and flowers and more about basic, animal attraction.
Robert is a smokin hot fire fighter who has been burned before in a relationship. Enough to make him very wary of Sam. He is unwilling, initially, to take their relationship beyond anything sexual and making himself vulnerable to another person. Sam is just such a piece of fluff. But I kinda liked him for all that and thought he was ballsy and proud of who he was. He reminded me of Lysander in Jilly Cooper's gorgeous book, The Man Who Made Husbands Jealous. Both Lysander and Sam had a particularly endearing flaw.
Sam often seems over the place but does begin to have serious feelings for Robert. I did find this a little difficult to take as he is only 18, nearly 19 when they 1st start the hot nekkid man love, of which there is MUCH! I kept thinking about many relationships at 18 that start and finish rather smartly and wondered if most blokes at this age really do want to settle down. Am I being too cynical? Robert being that much older, and smokin, makes for interesting plot and much, much, much smexy stuff. Energizer bunny stuff, srsly Sam puts that pink bunny to shame!
A good read for a night with rain on the roof.
Great modern day romance June 15, 2008 Amelia Mavis (Far Northern Maine) A quickie turns into true romance in this story of a college student, Sam, and a firefighter, Robert, who is closer to the kid's father's age than to him. Which is something Sam's father points out when he meets his son's new boyfriend for the first time.
So how can two completely different people have a life together? Read this book and find out. I thoroughly enjoyed this novel and I'm so glad the author continues the story, picking up several years later after Sam is out of school and working. Are they still together? Read the second book and find out!
ON FIRE by Drew Zachary April 14, 2008 JenB (USA) A cute college student picks up a sexy older fireman at a Canada Day car wash for a quick fling, and a sweet relationship develops.
This book is really sweet, and the sex is *HOT*. The pairing between a mature fireman and a flamboyant college boy isn't one I would have picked if I'd been warned ahead of time, but the chemistry works here.
The kid is hyperactive and silly and I wish he'd been a bit more mature, but he didn't bother me as much as I thought he would. The fireman, however, is the very image of "strong and sexy", and his calm demeanor really balances out the kid's craziness. There's no major external conflict in this story besides the social issues that might surround a relationship with such a big age difference. This is just good fluff. Think of it as really sexy cotton candy. :)
I liked ON FIRE even better when I found out that my favorite Torquere author Chris Owen makes up half of the "Drew Zachary" pen name.

Sam is a 18 years old student with a passion for uniform... and when he sees Robert, a 6 feet and half fireman, all wet in his uniform, his "wet" dreams come true. But Robert is 32 years old and, even if the first encounter is a steamy sex session, he thinks that a boy so young can't stay long in a relationship. But if they want to take a change, maybe this will be the best love of their life.
Sam, Sammy, is a wonderful character: a wild cat in bed and a tender puppy outside. He absolutely loves sex, more and often. Without problems and strings attached. But Robert is something else. He can't be only a one night stands.
Robert is the type of man I like best: a huge man outside with a sweet inside; he wants commitment, he wants love forever...
On fire is a sexy romance filled with funny moments. There is a lot of sex, but it is a joyouse and simple sex, an old way sex... with all the stuff you can read in this days, get excited with it means that Drew Zachary has a happy pen.
