Product Description
Manuel Santos Fuentes was not the type of cowboy Jess Graff was used to. From the moment they met during the El Paso International Rodeo, Jess wanted the Charro. When Manuel is injured during El Paso de la Muerte, Jess seizes the opportunity to get his vaquero into bed. But cross-cultural misunderstandings and family feuds threaten to destroy their relationship before it really starts. Can two men from wildly different backgrounds overcome hatred and jealousy and learn to trust in each other?

Twice the Cowboy, Twice the Ride This is a wonderful story of two men from different cultures yet they share a common thread in careers and a bond of love. James Buchanan delivers a beautiful emotional story surrounded by a sense of reality.

Jess Graff meets Manuel Santos Fuentes at a local bar during a rodeo competition both of them are competing in. Jess spends some time chatting and flirting with Manuel and then gets a personal invitation to watch Manuel ride the next day. When Manuel gets hurt, Jess takes him back to the hotel to recuperate and soon they are steaming up the room pretty quickly.

What started as one hot night has turned into something serious. Manuel's got a problem; his uncle is punishing him for his lifestyle by taking what means most to him. Jess intends to help his cowboy, then try to convince him to stay with him forever.

Jess and Manuel are very sexy, very loving men. It's love at first sight for both of them. I expected a confrontation at the end but it doesn't happen. Still, in Twice the Cowboy, the sex is hot, the romance is tender and the dialog is witty. I am eager for more from James Buchanan.

In Twice the Cowboy, Jess, a skilled carpernter during the week and a rodeo cowboy in the weekend, meet Manuel, a slightly younger Mexican guy, a gaucho. Jess and Manuel goes along well till the beginning, but trouble are with Manuel's family, and in particul with Manuel's uncle, an homophobic man who can't suffer for his nephew being gay.

And so he "kidnaps" Manuel's horse, Mango, and a cowboy without his horse is not a complete man. So Jess tags along Manuel in his rescue for Mango. Jess is a good hearted man, the typical strong cowboy, with the face burnt from the sun, and with too many years of fatigue on the shoulders. And he is totally kept by Manuel's passion. Manuel could be younger, but he is also open and nice.

Our heroes are not alpha or beta: at first you can have the impression that Manuel is a beta, also for his sexual preferences, but, during the story, you understand they are equal, only one more chatty than the other. And if I'm honest, I prefer Manuel, "Manolito".

In this book I smell sweat, horses and leather. Until the end I can't figure out if our two heroes will stay toghether. In Twice the Cowboy the Jess and Manuel met and loved in a flash, all the plot lasts, maybe a week or less longer. But it is intense from the first scene.

In the first book we see the blossoming of a relationship between the two, but to see its full development you have to wait Twice the Ride. In this book Jess and Manuel still are "testing" their relationship. Manuel is cautious, he fears to be burnt by love. But with love and sweet swords, the same things Manuel reserved to his horses, Jess will tame the charro. Even if to doing so, he have to deal with "all" Manuel's family, and no less than during the second marriage of Manuel's mother. Cause Jess to definetly conquer Manuel, will have to put apart some of his reservedness.

Twice the Ride is the right ending of a very sexy story. Both the books are pretty hot, right for who loves manlove a bit spicy.

5 out of 5 stars Ride that cowboy!   December 11, 2007

This book is great fun, both for the reader of romance novels and for the reader into erotica. The romance tells the story of gorgeous, hunky blond cowboy bronc rider Jess Graff, who works as a specialty carpenter (fine quality furniture, moldings, etc.) during the week and rides broncs in the rodeo on weekends. At a big rodeo in El Paso, he meets and heats up over equally gorgeous, Mexican vaquero Manuel Santos Fuentes, who has a "don" (gift, talent) for training horses and is a stunning, flashy Mexican-style cowboy. The two hot guys take an instant liking to each other and quickly find that they are sexually highly compatible. Manuel's uncle takes an instant dislike (hatred is a better word) to Jess, quickly discovering that the two guys were wildly shagging each other. He hates "maricons"; after the uncle steals Manuel's horse, the daring duo has to go into Mexico to get the horse back. In the process, they quickly decide that they are not only deeply attracted to each other, they are seriously into each other romantically and become boyfriends ("novios", in Spanish). In the second half of the book, they have some rocky experiences trying to make their relationship work and grow, but they succeed and the process is realistic and rewarding to read.

The guys have some incredibly hot sex scenes; in fact, they have trouble keeping their hands off each other. The sex scenes flew thick and fast, one right after the other at times (maybe a few too many times). I enjoyed this book not only for the romance but also for some really hot sex scenes between the two guys. I would be interested in a sequel or three involving them and some of their friends and the future conflicts that are predictable in their relationship (I do think the two have a strong enough foundation to weather such conflict). I can happily recommend this book whether the reader is looking for romance or erotica. Five stars.
