Beautiful artwork is fairly common in the BL genre. Finding an interesting, satisfying storyline, however, is like finding a needle in a haystack - difficult, frustrating, and usually unsuccessful. Thankfully, "Totally Captivating" lives up to its name. Truly, this manga is a breath of fresh air in an otherwise mostly stale market. Possessing a near perfect balance between drama and comedy, an endearing cast of characters, and beautifully detailed artwork, believe me when I tell you this series is a winner.
Ewon is not your typical weepy, submissive uke. On the contrary, he's fairly aggressive, and makes Mookyul work for every inch of ground he gains. Even though Ewon has some unfavorable qualities (he has a bit of trouble being faithful), it is almost impossible not to love him for his quirky charm. It seems no one, including Mookyul, can resist him, and you won't be able to either. Mookyul, though overly dominant sometimes, has surprisingly tender moments and a razor sharp wit. Even Ewon's ex, who plays a large part in the plot of the first two books, is easy to identify with. His motivations might be confusing at first, but all things considered, he handles his situation with a good amount of grace.

Ewon a young 23 year old man threaten into working for Mafia. Because he cheated on his ex-boyfriend,Jiho Shin. Now,Ewon working for Jiho new boyfriend now. How is Ewon going to feel when Mookyul Eun,Jiho's boyfriend start playing with him and you know what I mean by playing. I love this manga because it is full of drama and alot of boys love. I also give a five stars to the author.

This series is so addicting! The artwork is beautiful and comic at times too. The characters are so complex and it is so good to see two people gradually find each other and find out about each other over the course of this series. The boys are pretty and the plot is worthwhile! Each book has just had me on edge waiting for the next.

This story is jam packed with romance, beautiful drawings, and great messages about what it truly means to be in love, and allow another person into your life.
The main characters are Ewon and Mookyul--two boys who at first seem like they've come from completely different worlds. Ewon is a poor student who grew up in an orphanage and now completely supports himself, while Mookyul is a head hitter in the Mafia, and consequently loaded. Ewon ends up working for Mookyul on the suggestion of his ex, Jiho. Ewon, a person who cannot control his urges, cheated on Jiho and broke Jiho's heart. In a classic example of trying too little too late, Ewon then follows Jiho around begging for forgiveness. This angers Mookyul, Jiho's new boyfriend--but then Jiho convinces Mookyul to make some use of Ewon by having him be errand boy in Mookyul's office. Of course, Ewon accepts this proposition, for he wants to be closer to Jiho. Mookyul always keeps Ewon on his toes, between his always making out with Jiho, and his constant threats to Ewon: for if he doesn't fulfill his obligations as a lackey in the Mafia, Ewon's life is pretty much on the line. Unexpectedly, however, Ewon stops feeling so jealous over seeing Jiho and Mookyul all the time, when emotional and physical tension starts erupting between him and Mookyul.
Ultimately, it is revealed they came from far closer roots than they realized, and that their bond just might be strong enough to withstand one boy's macho playboy tendencies, and the other's playboy tendencies, which have come from a place of fear in truly opening up to one special person. The two help each other grow as individuals, and also come together as a unit--proving to themselves, and perhaps readers, that even those of us who feel the most broken, or who have built up the toughest shells, can still find that person to truly connect with.
The story is filled with fun dialogue, interesting twists and turns in the backstory and the present events, and absolutely stunning artwork. These boys are some of the prettiest people I've ever seen! All in all, I'd say that the title "Totally Captivating" is a very apt one, and that this book is a must read.
