Mississippi

by Steve Rider

Donald was doing laundry
Night they came to our door
I was home
BBSing
They had guns

Not sure if it was KKK
Or just some Bible Phreaks
They hated Queers
Knew where we were
They had guns

Started yelling at them
Maybe a bad decision
Shot to my right kidney
One to my groin
Bleeding on the floor

Police came
Blood all over
Poor Donald
Had to clean it up
Never complained

Cops said
I was lucky
Did not bleed to death
He came home
Nick of time

They say I'll survive
I s'pose I will
Hurts when I cough
Hurts to pee too
When I can

It was well coordinated
Think they knew he was gone
They wanted me
'Cause I'm OUT
In their faces

Guess what ?
I still am
Not dead yet
Mother fuckers
Come get some more

I'm here
No guns in this house
Only love
Peace and acceptance
We shall win
