The word "Fagnit" was coined by Frank Zappa in his opera-like masterpiece Thing-Fish, released in 1984. It is intended as a humorous mis-pronunciation of "Faggot", which is a perjorative term used for homosexuals in America. In my opinion Frank Zappa was not only a brilliant and talented musician, but also an astute observer of human nature equipped with a marvelous penchant for satire.
Because of my deep and life-long admiration for Frank Zappa, I suggested to my beloved husband that we use
"Fagnits" for our own domain name - and so here we are, with our own little private part of the 'net.
