Action News Update

"We interrupt this program to bring you a news bulletin.
The Royal Canadian Mounted Police tonight have moved in
on the Free Canucks ranch property in rural British Columbia.
We'll have film, and a live update, from Action New reporter
Katie Kindersen, on the at 11. Now back to Unretouched Tales
of the Local County Sheriffs Department....."

scene fades grey, then to a thin man, apparently in his late thirties,
handlebar moustache, possibly caucasian, wearing a tan uniform with several
badges and a shoulder patch in the shape of a freeway sign, in the middle
of a sentence:

"... you know, and so, well, we heard it on the scanner and
we didn't waste no time. I still had two thirds of a donut
left but me an' Jamison cut right outta there, you know, and
we were on the Interstate within minutes. We were, you know,
still maybe an hour and a half west of Omaha, doin' mebbe ninety
when we caught up to them. Sure enough, just like the tip had
said, it was a '82 Chevy Celebrity station wagon with the left
taillight out. Jamison checked the handbook for the violation
while I turned on the flashers."

Visual shows cop car, blue and red lights flashing, pulling over a weary old,
beat up, heap of a car, the left rear wheel wobbles distinctly and has no
wheel cover. View changes, now the old car is seen as through the windshield
of the police car, blue and red glints flashing alternately off the tailgate
of the dilapidated heap. Camera pulls back, we see officer #1 open drivers
door of police car. Background freeway noise jumps 24 db.

"You wait here, Jamison...."

Cut to news promo, then commercial...
...
Scene of many, many flashing lights, mostly yellow, some searchlights,
a firetruck - and in front of it, the familiar face of Action News
reporter Katie Kindersen....

"Tonight at 11, the latest update on the Free Canucks situation!"
....
